Expectations: The Lorax

I don’t expect much out of The Lorax.  Adaptations of Dr. Seuss’s works have had mixed results in the past.  Admittedly, I know little about the original story here, yet Hollywood has a tendency to fail in truly capturing the spirit of Seuss.  Where the great author may have wanted to teach both adults and children, Hollywood wants to sell merchandise licenses.  The Lorax may speak for the trees, but who will speak for all the literary works butchered by the film industry?
